Here is an email from MA-1 troop Bill Barton...
We still have a few hats left.
The USAF VETERAN hats (005) are $10.00 each. The non Veteran hats (009) are $8.50 each. Postage and packing for each order (up to two hats in a box) is $3.00. If you want more than two hats contact us for shipping cost. Let us know what you want and send a check to the address below. Your order will go out immediately. Let us know before the end of March.
Marvin Bessinger has a great idea of putting FLT LINE or MOCKUP etc. on the back of the hat. Know someone with a machine to do that for you? Thanks Marvin.
We thought that we had an outlet for several hats this summer but apparently that has dissolved, so we have more to sell than we anticipated. We really would like to get rid of these. This is all non-profit. Sales have been great. We are getting many reports about the quality of these hats and about how the general community is expressing appreciation for our service when they see our guys wearing them. Pat and I greatly appreciate the positive emails and phone calls from those of you who already have these hats. Thank you!

A F-106 Ball Cap Update from Bill Barton. See previous two posts to see pictures of the ball caps:
3-23-2011 Thank you all. The Veteran hats are all gone. We sold 120 hats and are not going to reorder any to keep in stock. If anyone wants some let us know and we will put you on a list and when that list gets big enough we will order them and ship them. When we order a larger quantity we can keep the cost down. Do not send any money until we tell you that we have them ready to ship.
The USAF VETERAN hats are $10.00. (wait list only for now) The F106, MA-1 hats are $8.00.
Shipping is $3.00 and we can combine hats in one box to save some on shipping.
Thank you all for your great support. Especially to you Pat Perry, that was of great help. Maybe you can copy and change out some of the site's message. Good luck to you and all who attend the 456 reunion this year at Castle. We wish we could be there.
We hope to see many of you at the MA-1 reunion in June at Selfridge.
May God Bless you all and your families. Enjoy Life, Bill and Pat Barton PO Box 3146 Great Falls, MT 59403-3146 Hm 406-952-0730 Cell 406-781-7159 btcbudpat@bresnan.net

He sent me pictures of some of the projects he has built. You remember he built the chest for Jim and Sandy Gier to recognize their support of building over 55 clock awards for the F-106 people and projects. Here's the email he sent: After I retired due to medical problems I could not just sit around and watch TV. I already had most of the woodworking tools but they were just gathering dust. My wife and I were in Cabelas in MN and we saw this fancy bedroom set. When we looked at the price we almost called 911 because it took our breath away. We took some pictures and looked in thier catolog and that was the first of many (mission style bed) furniture items I built. I can custom build just about anything someone would want. I'll send a check for one hat but I can't part with my 71st patch, it's the only one I have and 71st cold war patches are hard to find.

First question, how are you feeling and doing. It's been months since we were focused on you, and I didnt want you to feel that we forgot about you. You know how life is, we sometimes get diverted from the important things. How's your progress, are you playing with a lathe yet? That's the one tool I dont have that totally fascinates me.
Please give us an update, I'm sure everyone would love to hear from you.
As far as the hats, I'd definitely like one of each, my email address is postalron2000@yahoo.com. Let me know where to send payment, and I'll be happy to do so. Dont know if you have a paypal account or can take credit cards, but I can do those too if you'd like. And I dont have a problem sending cash if you wish, I trust the Postal Service, I retired from there.
Please let me know all the good things, therapy, milestones, etc.
Be well, Ron

BTW, Just received a shipment of walnut via the Nebraska express lines from Bear.. About 100 # worth.... This will go into clocks for AF reunions... So if you know of an AF unit having a reunion, tell them to get in touch with me.. These clocks cost them nothing, and a lot of times, Old Poperry shares the cost of shipping with me...
THANKS BEAR........ The Old Sarge

I am doing fine except for right arm (2"above the elbow to the finger tips) much is numb and the nerves do what they want, hurt from a 6 to 9 on the pain chart. I closed down the wood shop for a couple months in hopes that will some regeneration of the nerves. I now type with one finger left hand, what pain in the ass. No I haven't tried the lathe.
