Excellent work on the Falcon Story. I would speculate that if the Six could have carried a pair AIM-26's (with the HOJ capability) vs the the AIM-4Fs, the usual AIM-4G's in the backbay and mounting the gun as standard, the combination would have been an almost unbeatable dogfighter.

It should be noted that this is a slightly updated version of the PDF file I posted the link to here a while ago (and also downloadable at the bottom of the APA webpage). Carlo got some feedback shortly after it was initially published at APA from a former ADC pilot, he added it as an annex and I took some of the information to update a few sections (namely that of the AIM-26/GAR-11).
I'm planning a second update in the next few months, with a chapter added on the Genie and a bit on a potential Soviet AIM-47 type weapon that never entered production. Plus some more detail photos at the end. At that point the APA page will be updated, and I'll also push out an updated PDF.
Thanks for the support, you guys helped fill in a lot of the blanks!

Since we're on the topic here are a few photos I've taken of Falcon missiles and such over the years at museums. The first three are from the USAF Armament Museum at Eglin, and the next two are from the USAF Museum (as it was then known) at Wright-Patt, and the last is from the museum at Hill AFB. Eglin... Wright-Patterson... Hill AFB...

Just in case you don't have it, here is a picture of the Console that was used to test Falcons. I used this from 1957 to 1960. I don't know anything about how the missiles were tested after that. Anyway that is a part of the Falcon history. Thanks for the info provided by everyone. Attachments:

Here's a question. I can't find the answer in any of the official USAF Falcon documents I've got. What was the seeker look angle for the AIM-4G? Was there any off-boresight capability at all?

Not sure on that, but I do know someone that might know. I'll see if I can get an answer for you.

Cheers, thanks. I'm pretty deep into the AIM-4 history upgrade. At this point I'm searching out obvious missing bits and pieces, like this and an image of the elusive XAIM-4H.
