Hi Uncle Jim, Just about peed my pants reading these. After a once through, came up with the following scoring categories: - Been there, done that - Entertainment value - Pucker factor You'd be amazed how many of these situations still occur with high ops tempo and so little time to sit down and actually train. Crew chiefs are no longer allowed to taxi aircraft, but can run engines when properly tied down. Last year a certain USAFE base punched a fighter through the door of a hush house. Had a run of fatalities where AGE troops would crawl into lightalls to get warm and die from carbon monoxide poisoning. Don't get me started on weapons , they're in an entirely separate category of hard lessons. Just glad these stories have happy endings. Here are my choices: Sheryl _________ First Prize: Marv Taxi Second: F-106 Almost Third: Thud 3 orange gum Fourth: Nellist Fifth: Marv THERE IT IS GUYS, IT IS OFFICALLY OVER AND I WILL NOT AGAIN INIATE A STUNT LIKE THIS ON MY OWN..... maRV, YOUR TROPHY WILL BE ON ITS WAY SHORTLY, MFOLK(THAT SOUNDS SUSPISIOUS) AND THUD, YOUR TROPHIES WILL TAKE A BIT LONGER TO GET TO YOU.... Thank you for submitting my story for consideration in the tall tale catagory. The actual loading operation did take place and we did have a AIR-2A/ATR-2A hung by just the aft lug.
Many years have passed by but I still remember the situation as if it were yesterday. The F-106 was a fantastic aircraft to work on and in 1983 I was fortunate to get a job in San Diego Ca. at General Dynamics/Convair were the Delta Dart was made. I worked on the Tomahawk cruise missile system and later on the AGM-129 Advanced Cruise Missile(ACM)

Hey all I hope I read the original post correctly and I am supposed to post my AF career.
My first assignment after enlisting in the AF 1982 was KI Sawyer; where I was the very last crew chief of 58-772 until the FIS closed. From 85-87 I crewed A-10s at England AFB, LA. And from 87-90 I crewed F-111Es ay RAF Upper Heyford, UK. I met and married a fellow crew chief whilst stationed at the Haystack.
In 1990 I spent an extended tour on profile for knee surgery so I took the position of squadron security manager/PRP monitor as well as some other odd jobs until I separated from the military in 1992.
I moved around with my husband until he retired in 1998 after 24 years. We now live smack dab in the middle of the US of A. My current duty title is "Mommy' to our two boys ages 7 and 11.
