NEWEST UPDATES ARE AT THE END
In Nov 2020 we will have another All Troops F-106 Reunion. Bobski and Dave Stiteler have visited two Florida locations and have sent out a Mail Chimp survey asking for input. If you did not receive it (I didn't) please check your SPAM or Junk mail folder where it may have landed (that's where I found mine). MOW has posted this notice on the Main F-106 website Home Page: www.f-106deltadart.com/ (edited by Pat P. 7-24-2019 to correct message) Message says: Check SPAM / JUNK Folders!
Official F-106 Reunion info from Mail Chimp and Survey Monkey sometimes gets sent to email SPAM/Junk folders. Routinely check there for email from BOBSKI9933@aol.comPat P.

REMEMBER THE RASCAL PROJECT?This is an article on "What Almost Was". In late 2001 and early 2002, the F-106 was being seriously looked at as a space launch vehicle. It started out about 1 Nov 2001 with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) soliciting industry for proposals on building a low cost satellite launcher with off the shelf equipment. www.f-106deltadart.com/rascal_project.htmThe low cost satellite launcher program evolved to the Northrup Grumman Pegasus XL space launch vehicle Here's the latest launch of the ICON satellite via an L-1011 and Pegasus 43 on Inside KSC! Email from Pat P. to Patrick McGee 5-13-2020:
Patrick McGee,
Bobski just called to tell me the F-106 All Troops Reunion at Melbourne, FL has been rescheduled to Mar 17-21, 2021. Same days Wed Mar 17, 2021 (St. Patrick’s Day) through Sun Mar 21, 2021.
The decision was made following over 200 responses each that Bobski received on two separate surveys he sent out to his F-106 email listing. The Hotel was very willing to work with us and will be in touch with all the people who had already made reservations for Nov 2020 Reunion dates. The hotel has assured us they are not a Spring Break hotel destination and we are the only large group reserved for now.
Patrick, will you please change the Reunion Countdown Clock to reflect the revised schedule? Bobski will send out more details to all F-106 members on his Mail Chimp email listing in the next week or so. All the events will be basically the same as planned, but we may have a special St. Patrick’s Day theme celebration on the opening day Wed Mar 17, 2021.
I will post this on the F-106 Forum and Bobski will post it on FaceBook when the details go out via Mail Chimp.
Thanks,
Pat P.

Bobski sent this email to F-106 Reunion email listing on 5-14-2020. Forms updated with new date will be posted in a few days here: www.f-106deltadart.com/reunioncommittee.htm
Subject: F-106 2020 Melbourne Florida Reunion Postponed to March 2021 F-106 All Troops 2020 Melbourne Florida Reunion
Postponed to March 17-21, 2021
Dear F-106 Troop,
We hope this newsletter is reaching you in good health. I'm saddened to say the Covid19 bug has bitten us. We sent out two Survey Monkey surveys and with over 200 respondents to each survey, we had a clear consensus to postpone our original November 2020 date. Our host Hilton Hotel has agreed with us to move our reunion date to March 17-21, 2021. Everything is the same as our original contract, just the dates have changed. We will keep all the daily venues the same, tours, banquets, golf, etc.. We will be sending out the revised itinerary and registration files in a few days.
Those of you who have already registered with the Hilton will be notified via email that they have transferred your reservation to the new dates (they will keep the days of week identical). You of course can choose to keep the new one or cancel.
Be assured that all of your deposited monies with us are fully refundable in the event you need to cancel. Call Dave Stiteler at 586-226-2805, or email Dave at: prep59@hotmail.com if you wish to have a refund. If you do not contact Dave we assume you plan to attend.
The surveys look very positive for a great turnout! You can continue making your reservations at the Hilton Hotel using our special rate code per the instructions in the itinerary. Also register and sign up for tours and pay early to be entered into the Early Bird Drawing. We have extended the Early Bird drawing to Sept 1, 2020. Your name will be entered into a drawing for a FREE Room Night!
Aim High!

Another Reunion Update from Bobski on 6-9-2020. Pat P. F-106 All Troops 2021 Melbourne Florida Reunion
Tribute to Lt. Col. Chuck TownsendDear F-106 Troop, I am saddened to report to you that Lt. Col. (retired) Chuck Townsend has departed us on June 3, 2020. Chuck was most well known for having the most logged flying hours in the Six: 4410.6 hours. He flew the last F-106 to the Boneyard on February 9, 1988, from Otis ANGB, MA. I was honored to have known Chuck at Selfridge, Osan and Wurtsmith from 68-72.. He was one of the sharpest pilots who ever mastered the F-106 MA-1 System. Pat P. OK, On a serious note............ I turned 86 last month.............The reunion is next March; 6 1/2 months from now. I plan on making and donating about a dozen or so clocks for prizes, etc....... Don't believe I am on borrowed time, but I would like to have some one to receive and deliver clocks to the reunion. Would like to have some one pick up or share shipping costs. This part will be fairly expensive, as some of these will be fairly large, as I found somethings that I had used years ago. I will be ordering about 150.00 worth of clocks, perhaps another 100.00 or so in art work to be used as well, and I have no idea what other materials will cost. Haven't figured out yet what I will use to add F-106 theme to the clocks. Being as how this will probably be the last time I can do this, I need confirmation before I order all of the stuff I use

Like the F-106, the Old Sarge has passed the meridian of his life and old age is fast approaching. As a result, with exception of two "special" clocks, these are the last of the reunion clocks.

With 8,951 F-106 Forum posts to his credit, I'll bet the Old Sarge Jim Gier doesn't remember what he was doing on Dec 1, 2001 at 17:04:55 PST. I do, he was writing his first post. See it below.
When I think about all the clocks he has built for others (I have pictures of hundreds of them) it reminded me of a FaceBook picture I saw recently. When I read it my first thought was about Jim. See it below. I can count all my heroes on one hand and Jim is one of my fingers (can you guess which one Old Sarge?)
Jim's first post on the F-106 Forum:
This quote from St. Francis of Assisi reminded my of Jim:
