I was trying to find the old squadron at RGAFB that had the F-102s to see if they had any tfs assigned to them. I believe the squadron was 326th fis. Maybe if the old sarge could respond to my curiousity, I might be enlightened. or not? What say you?

During the Deuce's time in ADC, each FIS had at least 2 TF-102s, some had 3......... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/326th_Fighter-Interceptor_Squadron The Old Sarge

Thank you for your response to a still questioning answer. I will continue to dig into this in the future. Just to add to this, I was just starting getting my feet wet as an aircraft mechanic and just new to the air force when I arrived at RGAFB in Nov 66 and at that time the deuces were all camo painted. There replacement 6's arrived in January 67.Thanks again for your input.

What were you looking for specifically? Those camo birds were on their way to being misused in Nam.

Well, I wondered if the 326th had any TF-102s. I was stuck in the Periotic maint. docks sopping up hyd. fluid and sweeping floors. Didn't have much of a look at the real world outside on the flight line til the 6s came in. It is a challenge to know much about the sky wolves squadron seeing 50 years have passed.

Oswald, when the Deuce was delivered to the squadrons, in most cases, the TFs were delivered first, because they were used to qualify the other pilots that hadn't been to Perrin AFB, TX to get certified . Like I said, every Deuce interceptor sqdn. was equipped with at least 2 TFs. The 27th FIS, when we were at Griffiss had 3 of them. I got my mach 1 pin in one of them in 1958...60 years ago last month to be exact.

Thank you for that information. You are the man. Even though I never saw any, they had to have been there at one time or another. It must have been quite an experience to actually be in one of them at mach1.
