Gary, All the best this week at Reunion. I enjoyed the one they held here in Fairborn (WPAFB) a few years back. I reunited with several old friends. Lorin

Trip to the Pima Air Museum today like may others from the Reunion. The F-106 was in very sad shape. Guess I'll have to send them a letter when I get home.
GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!! I even went into the directors office and climbed his tree three different times (have been there 4 or 5 times) about it being in such sad shape.... Song and dance routine about money, etc. Offered him a clock to raffle off. Not interested. The third time I asked him how come a plane that came in years after they got 003 was in restoration....He got pissed, I got pissed and I threatened to notify The National Museum who actually owns the airplane. They still got the elevons locked in neutral with 2 pieces of 2x4 with a bolt through them? The actuators were robbed to put in a drone (target remotely piloted).

Just needs a paint job and the flight controls locked. About a week in the restoration hanger should do it. We road the tram tour around the museum grounds and the guy boasted about having some paid restorers and about 75 volunteers. Then mentioned big backers like Mars Candies and some wealthy count. Sounds like BS and lazyness too me.

Hope you have an enjoyable trip home, if there I such a thing in todays air travel. Glad you had a good time and thanks for the photo's. All is well here in Ohio. Wife's new washer and dryer are due to be delivered/installed this morning from Lowe's. Her old set wasn't that old, but the washer (whirlpool) was the new high efficiency model and went ballistic on us. Started banging and bouncing and we couldn't shut it off with front panel controls, so I turned off circuit panel breaker. Had repairman come out, charge me $90 and told me it wasn't economical to repair and that with the increased cost of spare parts and labor, it's cheaper to buy new one. The dryer wasn't needing replaced, but the new set is 3" taller than set being replaced, so son is taking dryer.
Weather has been great last few days with sunny sky and temp in 70's.
Gas is still up around $2.69.

Gary said: "Then we checked out a special helicopter." Tell us about the Helicopter. One of our attendees was looking for a special helicopter and didn't find it on the bus tour at Aviation Row. Is this the same helicopter he was looking for? Thanks for the great pictures, Gary! This was a great Reunion. We had a few mix-ups with getting through D-M AFB security checkpoint to AMARG but that got fixed and we had over 215 attendees go through AMARG and Pima Air Museum. Ours was the only group who was ever allowed to get off the buses and take pictures (of the F-106) at AMARG. We learned that in three weeks the Radisson Hotel would be shut down for remodeling over the next three months and reopen as a new Hyatt or Hilton chain hotel. All the employees will be let go and will have to reapply for their jobs with the new owner. Service was good and there were only a few no shows for work as some employees are currently seeking continued employment elsewhere. The Banquet dinner was good and well served by current employees. The cash bartender made $900 in tips on Banquet night and said I sure hope your group comes back for another reunion! The "F-106 Reunion Staff" now consists only of Bobski & Dave Stiteler and they did a great job! They had 4 local Tucson USAF vets that helped coordinate events and AV equipment and Bruce Gookin, Lou Pizzarello, and I helped with the hospitality suite. Abe Newman took pictures and there will be many of them on Pat McGee's F-106 website soon. As usual at our F-106 Reunions, everyone pitched in to help wherever needed to make sure everyone else had a good time. This is what F-106ers do! Bobski will follow up with a report shortly on how things went and which Air Museums will receive donations for their F-106 displays. Also, where the next Reunion will be in about 18 months. Later, Pat P. Thanks to Jim Gier's clocks and contributions of merchandise and silent auction crafts, we are able to raise money for donations to F-106 causes that keep the memories alive.

Gary, that's good to know. Embassy Suites is one of he Hilton Hotels chain. Glad to know that most of the employees will get work after a 90 day pause in employment.
That's pretty cool about your friends helicopter you got to visit!
Thanks, Pat P.
