today being veterans day, it is time to reflect on those who have gone before us and on those who have come after us. It seems that only the military understands and respects what each has done for our country, AND, in most cases for the world... Would it be that our civilian leaders had the intestinal fortitude of those that lead us to visible and decisive victories in 1945, 61 years ago.We who carried the shield for the vast majority of the world after those victories made tremendous sacrifices while our leaders frittered our honor and dedication away by giving up in Korea and Viet Nam.............Korea was only half a failure- the Korea that I saw in the 60s and again in the 70s was so different, and the difference today is tremendous......Imagine what it might have become had we been allowed to win that war! It is the veteran that gives the best and sometimes the most of his life so that others may take what they have for granted.....With complete disregard for what it cost.....To each of you, thanks for the honor of having served with you, and to you that are still serving, thanks for taking my place in carrying the shield for the rest of the world...... The Old Sarge

It is the VETERAN, not the preacher, who has given us freedom of religion.
It is the VETERAN, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the VETERAN, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the VETERAN, not the campus organizer, who has given us freedom to assemble.
It is the VETERAN, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the VETERAN, not the politician, Who has given us the right to vote. Thanks!
