Doesn't it remind you all of the good old Cold War days?! Here's a link where I found the photo. British Typhoons. Looks almost like a cross between a Six and an F-16. Sort of. If you use your imagination! www.mod.uk/DefenceInternet/DefenceNews/MilitaryOperations/TyphoonLaunchesOperationallyForTheFirstTime.htmFor the sharp-eyed folks out there try to find what's different about this Bear and the intercept pictures Pat has on the home page. I'm not talking about mod's like antenna's and paint jobs and stuff like that but if you look you'll see this one has something not like the 119th and 87th intercept photos. (Winner get's bragging rights only!) Here are the photos to help...

Must be a newer model and doesn't have a tail gunner or the bubbles back there. Much like when we removed the tail gunner from the B-52 and made it all electronic.

Not nearly as many bumps, bubbles or bulges anywhere on it. Must be the female version...

It doesn't have anything to do with bumps and bulges but the window in the back and lack of gunner is a clue! Notice anything in the back that looks different?

I did notice the window not being there, and figured that Pat had it. Radar controlled rear gun?

Y'all are getting close so I'll just give it to you. (First thing I noticed for some reason.) Anyway, the gun on the new photo is not pointed up and stored like it is in the photos with the F-106s. I was thinking that it must have something to do with the fact it's a radar-controlled gun now but, I LIKE to think when the old-time Ruskies saw an F-106 on their wing they just decided to act as peacefull as possible!! Mark Yea that's the same as the B-52's when they went electronic guns. They didn't point up anymore, just straight out the back. I used to work the B-52 D's with a tail gunner before going to H's. Yup I was a heavy when I first came in.
