Hey guys, anyone have any info in this aircraft. Please add any info you have on this thread. I remember we had this aircraft at Castle AFB, CA from Apr 63 to Apr 67. Senator Barry Goldwater flew in this aircraft when it was assigned to Castle AFB in 1967. Then it went to Tyndall and crashed in Oct 16, 1968, 45 years ago. As you can see below we are particularly interested in Capt Richard T. Gleeson as his widow Carol is inquiring. Carol, our deepest condolences for your loss. Pat Perry See the email from MOW: Hi Carol, I actually have very little data about this crash in my F-106 Inventory database at www.f-106deltadart.com/aircraft_inventory.htm. What I do have is that the aircraft was F-106B, tail number 57-2526, that crashed near Tyndall AFB, FL. while assigned to the Air Defense Weapons Center (ADWC) at Tyndall AFB. With your info here I can now add that the pilots were Capt Richard T. Gleeson and Maj. Howard Dean. My database record for this aircraft does not show an Ejection, so I must assume your husband and Maj Dean perished in this crash, correct? My extremely late condolences. I am including a few other guys on here who may have additional info or sources to someone who might. We will also post this on the Forums at forum.f-106deltadart.com asking the group for more info. Pat P. - Can you post a data request on the Forums about this and see if anyone knows more? I would appreciate any help you can give me. I am the widow of one of the pilots in that aircraft. The pilots names Capt Richard T. Gleeson and Maj. Howard Dean. Capt. Gleeson was my husband and I would greatly appreciate ANYTHING you can tell me. God bless you Carol Gleeson Thompson
