Jim, All I can say is wow. The C-130 was never designed to go inverted. In fact, one of the USAF newest Gunships went inverted during testing at Edwards recently and was declared a dead airframe. foxtrotalpha.jalopnik.com/brand-new-ac-130-ghostrider-a-total-loss-after-going-in-1743122173
I don't know all the particulars, but maybe it boils down to different set of standards, or maybe the USAF bird did the unexpected maneuver with more G forces applied. PS, I worked C-130 Program in many different roles during my AF Career and post retirement. I worked C-130 Simulator at McChord 1980-1983. Then I was Test Manager at WPAFB for C-130 Sims. After retirement I worked numerous jobs over 10 years with USAF Logistics Teams, and did many Tech Manual jobs with Special Forces C-130 at Hurlbert Field. I did a Configuration Study of all Models/configurations of C-130 fleet for USAF. That was best job ever. I got to go do research on every model/configuration in operation. That included Active, Guard Reserves and "Other's. Some of the Spook Birds were the most interesting. Many were considered "Classified".
Lorin
PS I am out the door now to go cast my Vote against Liberals who want to destroy President Trump, and the Nation, if they get in power.

PS I am out the door now to go cast my Vote against Liberals who want to destroy President Trump, and the Nation, if they get in power. In 1967-69, while at Yokota AB, the 5 C-130s assigned to a long forgotten Security Squadron # were my responsibility for their weight and balance program, including the form "F" that the pilot had to file prior to every flight. As these a/c were the same model (forgotten now) they were all different block numbers, so there was no representative a/c. These a/c required a Top Secret clearance to even be in the same hangar, let alone have access to them. And it made no difference if the airborne intelligence capsules were installed or not. I had to keep their -5 handbooks and all records in the Quality Control office safe with someone watching over my shoulder whenever I had to gain access. I believe that this outfit was a detachment from the outfit at Misawa that had that gigantic circular radio antenna on a hill near the coast. It had 360 antenna radiating out from the center. Believe it was one of 3 or 4 in the world...... Yes the C-130 became the GOONEY BIRD with it versatility and longevity. Fun to watch so called STOL and ground maneuvering.

How many engines can you identify that aren't GE? There is at least one aircraft most of have never seen, unless it was in a museum. Can you name it/

The first and only one I saw was at George AFB, CA. in 1953 and it was being used as a test bed by Edwards AFB. Don't confuse it with the B-57 Canberra........

Oh come on Jim! You're splitting hairs, and you never said no X-planes! Besides, you mentioned ones without GE engines to boot! Gotcha!! ;-) Besides, when I was at Laughlin the T-1A Jayhawk squadron I worked with was the 86th FTS carrying on the history of an old B-45 squadron, so I know all about that one! How about the F7U Cutlass in the video? Also with Westinghouse engines. Also in the video is the XF-90 with - you guessed it - Westinghouse engines! ( ! That's an X-plane!)
