Here's a still shot from the video of the marina tract under construction. 48 boat slips, pool & pavilion.
From the looks of where the high water line is, those berths better be of the floating type
Yep! The Corps of Engineers and TVA drop the Norris Lake from 1020 above msl to about 995 every year between October and April to control downstream flooding during the wet season. looks ugly on the shoreline but the water is still clear with 20 foot visibility. Lots of Stripped Bass and catfish. Docks are moored on 12, 2000 pound concrete anchors, each with a winch cable to fix location as pool level changes. We have 291 original lot owners and will have 402 when our developer sells all his lots. There are 5 completed homes and two under construction. I have learned more than I ever wanted to know about developing a gated community.
Checkout this aircraft Fly Over video (1:23) at the KC Chief's stadium. Pretty awesome.
This video is remarkable. How they worked it out with Homeland Security, FAA and all the other government protectors is remarkable. These are radio-controlled MODEL airplanes. No small feat! The budget cuts have eliminated military flyovers at large events. But, there's a group of guys in Kansas City who do formation-flying on their own who decided to pick up the slack. They invited a couple of other groups to join them for with 48 guys using their homemade RC airplanes. If they had more time, they probably would have an even larger group as people kept joining; they had a 49th added near the event.
One additional feature of the flyover was the use of pink smoke for cancer awareness. The folks from the Guinness Book were there and are expected to confirm it as the largest formation flight ever. To top it off, the crowd later set the record for the loudest gathering at a football stadium. Speakers on and best watched at 'full screen'. Click below, and hope you enjoy this short video.
