Think "C-141" when you fly on a KC-135, except they do not have a middle row of seats. If you get lucky they MIGHT have pax seats installed, but do not hold your breath. If they have the cargo floor rollers down you will probably not find a spot of the floor. There are bunks in the back on either side of the boom compartment, but the crew chiefs have first call on those. (I NEVER let a pax get a bunk when I flew!) There is a latrine with an RV-style crapper, and a real door to the room as well up forward behind the cockpit. (Unlike the curtain on a Herk in the back!) Hopefully they will load up with coffee for the tiny galley. If you ask nicely the boom operators may give you a tour of the boom compartment. That's a cool view!
Enjoy the flight, and have a good trip!

Here's an interesting shot looking forward from the boom compartment/APU I have of the interior of a KC-135 with a little bit of everything inside. The collapsible cargo boxes are on the left, there's the drouge on the floor in case we need to refuel any Navy aircraft, to the right of the drouge are the intake covers folded in half. Forward of those are the pax seats (facing the rear, of course), and forward of those is a medevac package. I took this shot at Hickam back in 2006 when we were on a Pacific medevac mission. Don't count on all of this stuff in your aircraft! You can see the troop seats on the side of the fuselage. Most likely, that is what you will get!
Got a deal on a rental vehicle. Military Discount and free upgrade to a 4x4 truck to go over the pass with.
Currently at Fairchild AFB waiting on Tuesday's Mission to Mildenhall, UK. They also just added a second Mission for Wednesday.
Its looking good.
Don't know about sharing photo's. All mine are over 1mb.
You can re size on Paint, but make a copy in your photos before you do...
The Old Sarge What is Irish diplomacy? It’s the ability to tell a man to go to hell, in such a manner he will look forward to making the trip. And buy his ticket!

Ah yes the troop seats, I used to install 780 equipment on the C-141's when I was working them at Travis. I hated working 780! Almost as bad as wash rack.

Albeit, a hell of a lot cleaner and dryer

You totally lost me on that last sentence there Gary.
Guess you know about KC-135s, so sorry for going on-and-on about them. Have fun!

Jim's post was a good suggestion about using MS Paint to reduce the size of pictures below 1 meg so they can be posted on the Forum. Making a copy of them is a good idea too, since you may what to have some of your big hi-res pictures printed.
Cell Phones and digital cameras can take pictures in about 4-5 resolution sizes. The bigger the picture, the more it costs to text or email it from your cell to a friend. That's how cell phone providers make big money from you on "data" charges in your monthly bill. If your phone is set to use Wi-Fi when you are in a hot spot like at home or Starbucks, the pictures travel on the Internet rather than through a cell tower which is much more expensive.
Lost two Posts this morning in "Weather or Not" Might post more on the flight and landing another time until the System resets and does not make post vanish.
try taking a pic with your cell phone and send it in a txt as a multimedia... works for me on verizon . send me one at 253.625.3151. its a burner i keep in case i loose my primary...
Gene, let me know if you received the picture I just sent you on your phone. Even better, post it on the forum after you reduce the picture size to less than 1 meg by using MS Paint program. Even better, post it as a reply to this post using the Quote button.
nice looking rail...all the bars looks like the clink... i save the pick to my phone...send it to my email...save pic to my gallery and then use 'add image to post'...quick and easy...sometimes the pic gets lost and takes a while to find.. didnt use quote button...didnt reduce.

p.s. hi gary...lovely weather were having...
Good job Gene! Sorry for the delay. Had to run down to Panda Express and get some Orange Chicken, Angus Beef and Fried Rice.
The picture you posted measured 1252 x 709 pixels (887 Kb). It was over 2.65 meg when I sent it to you on cell phone. Did you have to shrink it when you did the "Add Image To Post" function? Or does it automatically shrink whatever you upload?
I was being sneaky giving you a test to use the Quote button. Sometimes if you give someone a short reply like "I agree", I can't figure out who you are responding too, so I have to look back and see who posted on that thread and find out what they said that you agreed with. Makes it faster to understand if you hit the Quote button and everyone can see who and what what you are replying too.
The guy in the picture is John Dearmore. He has been building AA/FD since 1967 and Funny Cars after 1970 when the old front engine dragsters (FEDs) were replaced by rear engine dragsters.
John is a machinist and builds the best rocker arms in the world for Hemi's and Chevy engines. In Oct 2014 his machine shop burned down and destroyed all his CNC machines, mills and tools. He found the old Roland Leong 1967 Hawaiian AA/FD in Canada and bought it to restore at his shop in TX.
Here is the picture of the car on the Hot Rod Magazine cover Aug 67.
John will have the car finished by Oct for the California Hot Rod Reunion at Bakersfield.
We went to Gainesville FL (2200 miles round trip from Tuesday to Friday last week) to watch our buddy Preston Davis from Memphis be inducted into the International Drag Racing Hall of Fame. More on that later.

PS: My fortune cookie said "THE STAR OF RICHES IS SHINING ON YOU". I'd much rather it said the Eagle will poop on you tomorrow. I could use the bucks.
