I am sure that many of you know this, but Otis AFB was the only base in ADC that had all of their major weapon/surveillance systems; EC-121 (551st AEW&C Wing), F-101B (60th F.I.S.), BOMARC (26th ADMS) and the "Texas Tower" which were supported by H-21s and later H-3s. I was young at the time, but it was a very busy base and there was always some kind of an exercise going on. It was the time when our social life was very much a part of being in the base community, and we typically ate at the Officer's Club once a week minimum. It wasn't unusual to have a lot of loud activity in the Stag bar when the RCAF jocks were in town with their own F-101s or CF-100s. I lived on Tinker Street and my Dad was a staff officer in the 551st and later commanded an engineering detachment that had something to do with the SAGE, ALRI programs being refined for integration with the EC-121s and manned interceptors. It was a great time to be an AF brat!

Good stuff! As I mentioned in our email traffic I'm glad you found us and thrilled you joined. I already stole your bear intercept clipping to add to the 101st page and am sure I'll grab more.
