First of all I never mention being on vacation until we get back home. The less people that know your gone the better secured & safe your home is. You see all these people posting on Facebook about being gone which is just asking to be robbed. So please keep our trip classified. We will be home a just a few days anyway and the property is being watched and animals fed each day. Yesterday we left our resort at 0900 and hit some tourist places for coffee and treats. Then hit the black sand beach and drove on up to the Volcano Nat. Park. Then on into Hilo and then up Saddle Road to the mountain top to watch the sunset. Back down the mountain to to Kona. Got back to the resort at 2030hrs and then it happened."TSUNAMI Sirens started going off and we were ordered to higher ground. Remained there until 0130hrs. Talk about the longest day! Sure brought excitement to the vacation. Two earthquakes off the coast of British Columbia, Canada (7.7 and a 5.4) raised ocean tsunami warning buoys. The size of the waves was not know but the Islands had waves of 5 feet hit the shorelines. We are waiting for the T-shirts that will say, "I survived the Hawaiian Tsunami of 2012" :rofl :rofl :rofl All jokes aside it could have been worse. Attachments:

By-the-way, I asked several Hawaiians why the sign had a person running down hill to the wave. They said that Hawaiians love big waves to surf.

Took small kayaks down the irrigation flumes. Through 5 tunes and one was 1,800 feet long. We had miners lamps for the tunnels.

Video of places we stayed. Three different beach resorts. Dang Gary, this is your best music video yet! You would have paid 5-6 grand to have this professionally shot and produced. Judy and I were on the big island in 1986 when Haley's Comet passed over. The hotel took us up on a dark mountain nearby to see the comet - what an awesome sight. I had won a trip at Xerox and we stayed at the Mauna Kea Resort which may have been bought out by another hotel company but many of your shots looked like that resort. We walked past the pool when we arrived and waved at actress Meryl Streep who was reading a book. We also stayed at the King Kamehameha's Hotel in Kailua Kona. They had a 14 foot mounted Great White Shark in the hotel and a huge Banyan Tree in the front yard. We made the drive around the island and enjoyed the black sand beaches, volcanos, waterfalls, snow capped mountains and the big ranch in the mountains where they raise cattle. Years later we made another trip to Oahu but the big island to me is the most beautiful. The island of Hawaii and Sydney Australia are two places we would visit again tomorrow. Great video! Pat P.

Thanks Pat.
I use Windows Live Movie Maker. The more I use it the more I learn about putting together these slide shows. Its often boring just to look at photos, but putting photos together with music and videos makes it enjoyable to see.
This video was basically dealing with the 3 resorts we stayed at over 18 days.
I'm going to do more on the things we did.
Glad you enjoyed it.

Gene, That is how my wife plans these trips. Off season for discounts and good deals, which often gets you free upgrades at resorts. She makes sure its not during any school holidays or breaks. Saves airmiles and uses them. Always asks about military discounts.
Our next trip is going to be a bit different. Going to visit our daughter's family at Incirlick Air Base, Turkey. It will be a military air space-a trip.
