Be sure to go to page 2 of that link. It has some really good photos of 510 from the last crew chief (MSgt (Ret.) Russ L. Sisco), and a good story. www.warbirdinformationexchange.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=9044&start=15I am of the opinion that given the circumstances it was best used as an ABDR trainer, and later as a target. The way I see it a whole bunch of Airmen got some good training out of her extending her useful life.

I was there till 85 in the T-33 section asst crew chief 58-0693. I believe his name was Humprey that was crew chief. I do remember you, if you go to the 49th FIS Facebook page you will find other there also. I chatted with Sisko on FB for a while. I justed posted a bunch of photo's on the FB a lot of T-Bird photos.
