Ok, I have another idea I figured I'd throw out. The small text is usually just raised chiseled text and not painted. And an attempt for more color? While keeping true to the Six?

I like the one in Reply #20. There are a lot of good ideas here, but I like that one the best.
Even if the cost is $7-$8 a piece, it is still less than the $12.95 as listed in the Medals of America catalog. I would gladly pay the price you set.

MOW, These new versions are getting better each time. If you are adding a new graphic image each time you make a change can you display them in progression here www.f-106deltadart.com/images/f-106deltadart.com_coin_S1.jpgso we can follow the progress? Also, do you have a set of goals or requirements you could list. I know a few are (not in any specific order): 1- must be two-sided 2 inch diameter gold coin with fluted edges 2- must contain the following colors: 3- text should explain the following: 4- graphics should include: 5- purpose (goal) of the coin: 6- how coins will be distributed 7- 8- 9- 10- Knowing these would inspire more out of the box thinking and challenge thinking on requirements that may seem too restrictive. As I take a look at the evolving image on side 2, the "USAF Air Defense Command" may be redundant since the ADC emblem already says "Air Defense Command" at the botton. That might free up some edge real estate for other text if needed. Here's some possoble thought starters en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_Defense_CommandPat P.

I love it. Have you thought about a six without wing tanks. In a true intercept, the tanks are dropped once empty. They have minor drag, but when going for fast kill, they are left behind. I also agree with too many ADC, Air Defense Command. Currently have Air Defense Command twice and ADC as well.
And remember, an elephant is a mouse built to Military Specs.

I agree with Gene, that one looks great.
I think adding the colored logo took away from it.
Plain is good.

TANKS ON.................. Less than 10 % of us ever saw a Six fly without tanks...... The only one I ever saw jettisioned them before an emergency landing..... Too much similarity to the Mirage without the tanks... Attachments:

Never saw one fly without tanks, but I know of one that got over-G'd and the tanks were forceably removed...the wings were replaced and it was put back in service.

thanks Jim... UNITED STATES AIR FORCE second choice for the backside Putting back the UNITED STATES AIR FORCE, rather DEPARTMENT OF THE AIR FORCE on the backside would make it exactly like my initial suggestion, making it the same as the 456th coin AND saving me from making a new mold. Just need the front mold then, which was my original plan. Is UNITED STATES AIR FORCE better than DEPARTMENT OF THE AIR FORCE? Attachments:

It is more reminiscent of how we used to see her and makes it a distinctive silhouette.

I like the idea of something about the Century Series Fighters, but not sure that's the right one. Have to think about that more.

Why have "United States" appear twice on one side? Pat P.
