Correct Gene, and it was the maneuver that showed up on the F-101 called the JC maneuver (porpoising in level flight). My sqdn from George flew the missing man formation at his funeral.

If you read "Yeager", by Chuck Yeager, he tells some stories about "Pancho's".
"Pancho" Barnes was one of the most famous of the "early" women aviators, and a character whose life could fill several books and movies.

The F-86H also killed a bunch of pilots, when they pulled the nose up too sharply on takeoff.
The plane would do what was called the "Saber Dance", going from side to side, nose up, with the wings eventually hitting the runway and destroying the machine and the pilot.
No Zero/Zero seats in those days.
The T-33 was also capable of doing that dance.
We had a pilot killed at The SCAB, when he pulled the nose up too far and it went in to the dance.
Plane hit alongside the runway, and, for some reason, the pilot ejected, he landed in the fire where the fuselage tank was.
We were preparing for mission launches in both squadrons, so lots of people saw it.
I was on top of my bird, cleaning the canopy.
The crew chief of the T-Bird had been offered a ride, but had a cold and declined.
He went to the infirmary after the crash.
He fainted when he saw it.
