For all, y'all in The Republic of Texas.
It is that time of year again.
HEB is selling fresh corn from the fields in The Valley.
Four ears for One American Dollar.
De and I had some for dinner (lunch for you Yankees).
Both ate two (2) ears.
Man was it good.
May have some HEB Creamy Creations Poteet Strawberry Ice Cream this evening.
I'm sorry, not really, for all of you who don't have access to HEB.
Ron, tells me he is going out for Veal Parmigiana for his birthday.
Go for it, Ron.
Now that I have all, y'all hungry for fresh Sweet Corn, well, crave on.
Jim Too

Hey Jim - I just planted some sweet corn this last weekend. I'm hoping the final frost has come and gone! There was a light frost a week ago that wiped out the fresh buds and leaves on my grape vines!! I'm hoping they come back and I can get some grapes this fall- going to try and make some wine!

MArv, plant some Choke Cherries along the edges of your palatial estate, then plant Dandelions in the fields. They will both grow anywhere, no fertilizer, no watering, no nuthin. Then when they get ripe, make wine out of them. Much easier than trying to grow your own grapes. And, they don't die in the Winter. Tee Hee! Jim Too :god_bless_usa

I saw a guy at Albertson's buy about 6-8 CASES of fresh corn last week! Haven't noticed much in the store since, so I may have to go out of the way for a trip to HEB!
Edit: No bear on this one, but it growls at me every once in awhile still. Yesterday I got a couple.
