Does anybody remember the Disney attraction "Captain Eo" that featured Michael Jackson? There was a component of an F106 that appeared in the 3D film. Anybody remember what it was? Hint: it was an MA-1 component.

Not the seeker head. It was something found in the cockpit.

Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!
Yep, it was the 083, aka "The Stick," that little fork-shaped thinhie that allowed the pilot to drive and work the radar simultaneously.
For those who didn't see the feature, Captain Eo (playef by Jacko before most of his surgery) has to steer his spaceship to some sort of planet and give this cyborg queen the gift of music. It was, in essence, a 3D music video. I'm not really a Jacko fan and I rather liked it.
And there, atop the spaceship control stick, was an 083.

Old Sarge, Sounds like you have the hex bar tool used to remove the aft section bolts on the P/RP-80, T-33 and F-94 aircraft. Twas an easy tool to use and most old mechs mastered it early in our careers.

Thanks, Pat Use to once be 3, the usual one at the front of the radom-airspeed indicator amongst other things. 2 on the vertical stab for artificial feel. You stated "TUBES", but there were other sensors....And some pitot tubes also had static ports incorporated in them

I would also have to count the 2 pitot tubes in the intakes that measured pitot and static for the vari ramp controller as tubes, you all remember, they were the hand holds you grabbed ahold of to help you out of the intakes after doing the intake inspection.

I left my smoking hand print on one of those externally heated devices ;D and the skin off my forehead on the one in the right intake ;D early in my career. Once was enough. I believe the 2 Eclipse birds, 130 and 010 have an extra pitot tube or sensor on the left nose behind the radome above the angle of attack guide vane. It appears blue in the pictures. I don't know their exact function.

"Amazing what ye be a catchin when ye leave the door open a wee bit Just a wee bit o bait left in the open be acatchin a WEENIE.....GOTCHA Marv" OK Jim just a point of clerification here. In Minot the MA-1 folks were nicknamed the Weenie's and the Instrument, Comm Nav folks were the Toads. I say that to ask did you think you were acatchin MArv the MA-1 Weenie, or Marv the Insturment Toad. Does this mean that I have to change my screen name to keep the confusion factor down on the part of the Old Sarge.. I am willing to do that if necessary.
