Hello, after thinking about possible copyright infringements, especially in this sue-happy society, I totally simplified my webpage. It will have my small patch collection (I added a 437th FIS & 83rd FIS today) and my artwork. The F-94B on the patch page and this F-94C are my first two projects accomplished on the MS Paintbrush program and as close to accurate as these old eyes can make it. The F-106 is next. I have already drawn an AIR-2A and a AIM-26, although I am not sure the "Six" carried it. I know the F-102 did. Cheers, Al Attachments:

Here is the F-106, a real pain to draw and given the limitations of the program, a lengthy project. And as for the AIM-26, it was not as far as I could find, used on the F-106. Attachments:

That's a bunch of work for something that is certainly copyright-free, or public information.
I'm no expert, but if our MOW can post those drawings as the background on this forum, I'm betting you can use the same on your site.

Yup, as long as you make no money from your site i.e. it's not a commercial site, public domain is still public... for now.
Nice drawings :2thumbsup

I thought about all that last night and decided to just create my own art. It's kind of a challenge and really the site is about patches. Thanks for the comments, Al Attachments:

Al, I really like that you are using the 5th Fighter Motto.
I guess it could really be the motto of every ADC squadron.
We should be using that motto for our borders.
Loosely translated: "We won't let them in".
Col. Broughton said it was: "Keep the B.....s out".

I thought the 5th's motto was a classic as that is basically the goal of all FIS units. It is one of my favorites, along with the 454th Bomb Wing's "Deter or Destroy" and RAF Binbrook's "United we strike".

Pretty much : That "Deter or Destroy" stuff leaves them an option. "United We Strike"? Okay fine. You're united. Nah. Just not my style! Old-school 7th BW insignia...

Sorry, old age! I totally forgot about that one. And sadly when I was working, "Mors Ab Alto" was on my screensaver.

One last change, replacing the eagle/flag with a pic that ties together CONAC, ADC and Aerospace Air Command. . . Attachments:

Nitpick mode on: the right-hand Falcon in the Dart image is the early model airframe, used for the AIM-4A-D and AIM-4H. Those guys were never carried by the Dart! Same goes for your F-101B image, you're showing the late-model (E-G) airframe where they Voodoo only employed early model Falcons. /nitpick
Good stuff though. Love to see more of them colorized!

This is one of my favorite pictures. The bottom 106 tail number looks like 59-0002. That is the first Air Force active duty airplane I worked on. I earned my 5-level on that airplane and then was assistant crew chief before being assigned to our B model, 57-2545. Of course, I had a hand in most, if not all, of our airplanes but the one you learn on and then the first one you get as crew chief, those are the special ones. Thanks for posting this picture. :2thumbsup

WOW!
Gene, that is a great picture.
I saw a copy on display at the Elsworth Air Museum, but they were out of stock and didn't know when, of if they would get more.
Now I have it.
Thank you.

I know I've seen that photo before. It has to be from a USAF photographer, so my bet is it's a public domain photo.
I checked Erv's site, and didn't see it there, but only looked in the obvious places. He had a way of sneaking in a few, but was always good with his sources.
Still looking...
