In 2004 at age 58 I had symptoms of colon cancer because I was always too busy at work to think about getting a colonoscopy.
Had colon resection surgey, radiation and chemo. Lost 85 pounds. Took about 18 months to recover. Have been hounding my friends ever since to get a regular colonoscopy. Three of them responded just in time to avert cancer.
So here's a comical reminder that may save your life. Recovery rate is 70% if you catch it in time. Chances are you are in good shape but it's always good to know for sure.

My mother died from colon cancer so I am considered "at risk". I have been getting teh scope since I was 50. I had one last June and still no issues. The worst part of the procedure is drinking the vast amout of laxative the night before. Early detection is always the key.
