Looks like they've rearranged the exhibits a bit since I was there a year and a half ago.

CH-53 I worked these for a few months at Sembach and also got a few flights on them. I don't like anything that the wings move on it.

This one is for Mark, our C-130 FE. Thanks Gary! (Oh, that's "Retired" FE! I love saying that!) Wow! Looks like y'all had a great trip! A long time ago Penny told me that when all the kids finally move out she wants us to buy an RV and just travel around the country. When I asked her why she wants to do that, she told me, "So they can't find us!" :rofl Love the pics! Keep 'em coming! All we've been talking about around here are guns, politics, and the weather! Okay, that's what we always talk about. Welcome back! Mark

Looks like they've rearranged the exhibits a bit since I was there a year and a half ago. Years ago I took one of their "Behind the Scenes" tours, and one thing they showed us was a scale, table-top model of the museum used to determine how to place the aircraft. They actually had little (smaller than 1/144) models of every aircraft in their collection. The guide told us that they are constantly determining how to rearrange the displays in order to give a different view of their displays. (I think I have a photo of that model somewhere in my boxes of photos, but it would take some serious digging!) That makes sense to me. I mean, think about it. If it's been years since you've visited, return one day, and see the EXACT same thing, would it be interesting? It's so much more fun to see something, and say, "Hey! I never noticed THAT before!" Hey Bull? Is that the stuff you used to do when you ran the museum at McChord? Mark

Mark,,,,,I started as the Museum Administrator and then later the Museum Director after the Wing Historian went PCS. It was great duty and the Museum Foundation really operated the museum. I was the rep there for the U.S. Air Force. It was my duty to see that all items were taken care of, secured, documinted, and that the museum aquired new items and expanded. Most of the daily operations of the museum was done by the museum foundation members and volunteers. I coornidated and facilited things for the museum foundation and volunteers. There are folks that when they have a title try to hog all the credit - I'm not that type of person and never was. In or out of the Air Force. I always believed it was my duty and job to teach my job to others in my career field and insure they received credit when it was due. The museum foundation members basically operated the museum. I just ensured we did it within USAF Standards and safety.
