How many of you have SKYPE on your computer? I have it. I only use it on occasion to talk to my brother in Japan though. We usually have to coordinate it however, due to the time difference. He's either working or sleeping when I'm available, and vice versa!

I've got it on my laptop, one of my desktops and on my IPAD. Yeah, I'm technically overwhelmed. Got the IPAD for my wife so she can talk with our daughter and son and the grand kids. She's only used it once since we're here, and my daughter had to call us. My wife is a real techno phobe.
I havent used it in several months hoping that she'll use it more, but I can always use the other machines.

First you need a webcam then you need to load contacts. I'm still learning it and only use it so far to talk with family and our grand-daughters on the east coast. Its a cool program.

if you have a camera and speakers built in, all you have to do is set up an account. The camera would be a very small lens at the top of the screen, and the microphone(s) would be the very tiny holes within an inch either side of it.
Just click on the skype ICON, and follow the instructions. You'll need an account name, just like your email address name, and a pass word.
Of course, the person you want to see and speak with has to have skype loaded and working also, along with the appropriate cam and microphone.
When both of you are on line, and you have the system fired up (not necessarily at the front), you will see a SKYPE icon telling you that they're on, and vice versa. Then all you do is click to connect and you're in.
This is like the video phone, and it does work. Depending on a lot of speed factors, you will either see fluid movement, or a series of pix flashing on the screen. Sort of like the 60 hz, vs, 120 hz vs 240 hz on a digital tv, except the slow version is REALLY slow.
No matter, at least you can see them and hear them, whoever them is/are, and hear the voices. And it's free, outside of the cost of the computer, access, modems, IP carrier, etc., and all those other incidental charges.
Enjoy
