August 12, 2001 was first time I signed the guest book - 10 years ago. That was to announce that we had our first 456th Reunion at Castle Air Museum a month earlier and to ask for donations to save-a-six. Many folks made donations and $35,000 dollars later the F-106 went on display at Castle in 2003. Back then there were about 22 F-106s at AMARC. Together we found homes at museums for a bunch of them and sadly some 7 ended up as "range ducks" at the Goldwater Bombing Range at Gila Bend, AZ as various fighters laid on heavy ordnance. There are two left at AMARC but both are promised. One goes back to Dryden Test Center and the other (59-0043) to a small air Museum in Minot ND... provided they can raise the funds in the alloted time. www.convairf-106deltadart.com/590043page.htmlWe are looking for a F-106 for the Tyler TX Air Museum to make a full set of Century Series Fighters. There are only about 5 museums in the country that have a Century Series Set. We are talking with the Minot Museum to see what their plans are for the Six - looks like it may take them 1-2 years to raise the funds. We are not certain they want it as they did not know there was a Six already on display at Minot AFB about 8 miles away. If that doesn't work out, we'll see if the USAF has any coming off loan from museums. I think there are also 4 left in El Paso but last I heard the guy wasn't interested in letting any of them go. Sorry for getting off topic. Just made me feel good to remember how many Sixes this bunch of Dart Lovers has saved over the last 10 years. If we find one for Tyler, I may be coming back to you for donations. The Old Sarge has already agreed to make a fund raiser clock for the Tyler Air Show in July. Pat P.

I'm sure I signed the guestbook sometime in 1999 because I remember sending Pat scans of F-106 patches, and photos when I lived in Colorado, but can't find it in the archives. Looks like I "officially" joined the forum in March 2004.

June 19, 2000 is the present date in the archive - But I know that I was on this forum much, much earlier! :green-beer :green-beer
I recall having a problem with the "NEW" sign on - had to change my username to MA1RV instead of MArv.
Oh - I also had a "HOT computer - all of 3500 Meg harddrive with a 256 K RAm that ran at the fantastic speed of 25MHz all with the newest version of WIN95. Somewhere I still have that hard drive! Might make a almost useful pad for my coffee cup these days!
WOW computers have certainly come a long long way since then!
