Nicknames (Read 730 times)

In some of our postings there are nicknames that are a part of the post.

That is because those nicknames have become a part of our Air Force language.

There are nicknames in and for the other Armed Forces as well.

Grunt, Swabbie, Jar Head, Coastie, Boomer, Gyrene, Fly Boy, Bus Driver, Doorman, and others.

There are some that I think may be pretty exclusive to the Air Force, and in particular to those who work in, on and around the airplanes.

The ones below are some I remember.

I'm sure our group of intrepid warriors will come up with more.

I will leave them unidentified as to real meaning, as most of you will know them, and I won't have to type as much.


Bubble Chaser.

Sparkie.

Tin Bender.

Load Toad.

Cannon Cocker.

GIB.

Weenie.

Fan Fixer.

Ramp Rat.

Tire Kicker.

Bug Wiper.

The Other Guy.

Knob Turner.

------- WAF.

Sky Cop.

The Shirt.

Timmie the Tanker.

Slop Chute.

Head Shed.

Line Shack.

The Pad.

The Rose.

Recip.

Fan Driven.

Dish Pan.

Fan to Cool the Engine.

Go ahead, now, and add to it.

If you don't know what some of them mean. Well, you are probably too young to know, but not too young to ask.
