In just this next weekend is the McChord Air Show. I'm planning to be there on Sunday with my camera, son, & Grandson. Gene might be there also. I'm sure some of us will have some nice photos to post of the show and its aircraft on displays. Only thing that would be a real treat would to see a flying F-106 doing a flight show. Maybe some day one will get restored to flying condition. :fire_missle_ani

I don't see much happening on a Saturday or Sunday at air-frieght when an Air Show is going on. I bet you will be out side the warehouse with your camera. Am I not correct?

no... unfortunately things go on in the background during these outings that makes the APS the all purpose squadron instead of the aerial port squadron... i'll be driving people around and using a forklift to re arrange things that others had arranged the day before...

yesterday, i left for work 2 hrs. early knowing the traffic would be a bear...lakewood didn't do anybody any favors...the stoplights were backing up traffic in all directions. the exits on the freeway were choked for miles... once i got on base things went a lot smother...althugh i had a problem getting past the guards waving traffic into the general parking areas.i got to work 3 mins. late. today, i left for work 2 hours early and got to work an hour plus early... hardly any traffic at all..the gate guards are just waving everybody thu.. and i ignored the people at the parking areas... i wonder if everybody showed up on the first day or maybe the weather... its a lttle more overcast than yesterday and a bit cold... oh well!

I went to one of the McChord airshows a number of yrs ago...traffic was aweful back then...so I opted out of there rather than fight the crowd....I love airshows but hate the crowds and traffic....no traffic on my boat!

you didn't miss much... there was a combo of a10,f4,f16 and f86 in formation and then doing an individual thing, there was a t33 doing its thing, a pair of f86's doing thier thing, a civie team called the patriots flying 4 L 37 trainers...and a few more things, but not worth the crowded entry...

I had and excellent time with my son and two grandsons. Reminded me of the times my wife and I used to take the kids to the airshows. The Blue Angeles or the ThunderBirds were not there but it was nice to see a new team I never saw before.
I think the Patriots put on a good show. Not as fast and noisey as the Blue Angeles or ThunderBirds.

Was a treat for me to see the T-33 fly. Nice to explain that jet to my son and Grandson about how I flew in it over Mt. Rainer and the pilot did a barrow roll over top of it. I flight to remember. Hearing and seeing it fly brought it all back.

Those are some real cool pictures. I miss our airshows here in Muskegon. We are trying to get them back, but a lot of red tape.
