Thanks everyone for the comments. I don't know anything about this plane. It was just there when I moved to the area in 92. It used to look good but was kinda remote and I remember the plane being vandalized several times, mostly the windows being smashed and they did seem to repair it though. It did seem to suddenly deteriorate rapidly around 99 and in 2000 they took it down hence the pictures. Was kind of an icon to me and am surprised to not be able to find any photos. Maybe I should call the county and see if I can find out what happened to it. Maybe its in a shed somewhere, I would really love to find out its history, where it flew etc. It was only disassembled and left on the ground for a couple of days before disappearing.

At the time it was removed I was told it was relocated to the Albany area and would be restored. It might be F-102A, #56-1365 at Empire State Aerosciences Museum in Glenville, NY. Glenville is very close to Albany. The museum boarders the Schenectady County Airport. You can see their F-102 displayed behind the building at Google maps. maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=glenville.ny&sll=37.243448,-95.471191&sspn=1.482413,2.469177&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Glenville,+Schenectady,+New+York&ll=42.859152,-73.931664&spn=0.002666,0.004823&t=h&z=18 A telephone call or e-mail to the museum may confirm or disprove this. www.esam.org/I looked inside it while it was on the ground. There were a lot of birds nesting inside. The skin was badly corroded and perforated. I procured part of engine mount fastener that had been flame cut and left hanging at the mounting. It is a small 3/8" socket head cap screw w/tapered head to reduce weight. It has a nice radius under the head and a matching beveled flat washer.
