Well now, being as how da bullhunter clicked the mouse and created a 4th place prize, I had to go back thru and read again the remaining 7 to find another winner....... Tall Tales #14 by Shannon and his tale of a show down between missiles and a carbine...................

I was so excited to see that I won 2nd place in the Tall Tales contest that I forgot to thank the judges and everyone else for reading all the stories. I read them all, too, and was impressed by all of them. You judges had a challenge choosing the ones you liked best. I am honored and humbled to be chosen from this select group. I will definitely have the clock on display and it will be one of my prized possessions (no pun intended). Thank you all. Mike

Why thank you Gentlemen !! All the stories were great, I loved reading them. There were times when I would burst out laughing in my office and my wife had to come in and see what was going on. One time I started laughing so hard I knocked over my coffee cup which hit the floor, wife asked if I was OK and I didn't respond to her ( I was laughing to hard and couldn't catch my breath)so she runs into the office along with the dogs in tow, they cleaned up the coffee on the floor, she just stands over me as I'm laughing, had tears running down my face, she reads the story and starts laughing then knocks my coffee cup back on the floor again! The puppy picks up my cup and runs into the kitchen with it. Thanks again !!!!!!!

Well gentlemen, it certainly was a task to read all of your inputs and sort them out. Each of us judges had our own way of scoring and my thanks to Ol Sarge for combining the scores and coming up with a verifiable winner. As for my own personal favorites, I was totally amused with the minds picture of the "Circle of Sixes" on the flight line chasing each other, especially on the snow slick ramp! What a hoot! that was a hard choice for me - next to the young SP facing down a fully loaded "6" and having the bay doors open and pointed at him in return!
Yep!! It was a hoot! Nary a lie in the bunch!!! :drunk My hat is off to all of you who participated and for the patience to await our combined decision!

Ok Guys, I received the clock made for me by The Old Sarge for my 2nd place win in the Tall Tales II contest. This is the best award I could have received. I don't have a spot of honor on my desk yet, so I decided to share it with anyone who comes into our home. It is sitting on top of the entertainment center in the living room. It is truly a thing of beauty and I can't thank you enough, Jim. It's very obvious that you are a craftsman and really enjoy creating these clocks.

Well our Reckless Raconteurs (storytellers marked by defiant disregard for danger or consequences) have all received their booty (riches or property gained through conquest) so let’s see them. I’m missing pictures of them and their prizes except for Jim “Too” Scanlon. Sent Lugnuts a PM today but also need pictures of Steve and Jeff Shannon with their loot. Email them guys, so we can have a full house here. Jim Scanlon Tale #7 - 1st place Lugnuts55 aka Mike Tale #6 - 2nd place Steve201 Tale #8 - 3rd place (insert picture here) on this page forum.f-106deltadart.com/index.cgi?board=maintenance&action=display&thread=1580&page=3Jeff Shannon Tale #14 – 4th place (insert picture here) on this page forum.f-106deltadart.com/index.cgi?board=maintenance&action=display&thread=1580&page=4Thanks again to our Tall Tales winners and participants and many thanks to the Old Sarge for making the clocks, Sandy for sanding them and to Gary for the CD Books. And thanks to Pat McGee, and Marv Donnelly for helping judge the contest. I want to add this special clock that Jim built for a Very Special Person. He would not want me to talk about the circumstances but I insisted on sharing the beauty of his art with his friends. This is one of his best works in my opinion because of the way he captured the outside of the tree as well as the inside...much like he does when choosing a friend for life. Pat P.

My Fellow Patriots The clock I was awarded, for winning First Place in the Tall Tales II contest, is one of the greatest awards I have ever received. It is very special to me, because it was awarded by those I esteem as Fellow Patriots. Each of us has a common bond in the SIX and the love each of us has for our Republic. To each of you who judged, who read and commented on my Tale, I Thank You from the depths of my heart. To Jim and Sandy, there are not enough words for me to adequately thank you for the loving work you put into my clock, and all the other Six clocks you build. THANK YOU! The inspiration for much of my writing comes from De, my bride of 47 years. She encourages me to write and reads most everything I write. She is an editor, critic and encourager for my writing. To her I give my loving thanks. To each of you, My Fellow Patriots, thank you for your service to our Republic, in the past, now, and in the future. Our common desire to keep the Torch of Liberty blazing has drawn us together, and keeps us together. May God Bless America. Jim Scanlon :god_bless_usa
