I was in the 318th when we won the Hughes Trophy and a video was made about us. I had a copy but for some reason it will no longer play. I am trying to find and perhaps buy another copy.
Anyone know where I might get one?

I was there and I never heard about any video. Bummer or I would have purchased one.
Is your video a VHS ? If so,,,, There might be a good reason.

I was there also and did not know of a video but, would like to have one. Remember well standing in the drizzle, in formation, while Chappie James made the presentation speech. That guy could talk the fuzz off a peach. Made you forget the weather. If you find a way to get the video let us know. Jim

I'll keep looking. It is called "A Tradition of Excellence." In the video there is some great footage of the F-15 flying over Mt Rainier and an alert scramble. It also had our award ceremony where the trophy was presented and Lt Col Kinan had some words. I thought there was some F-106 footage as well but can't remember for sure.
Thanks for the replies and maybe some "Green Dragon" some where will remember more.

chiefeda,,,I have a friend that has a awesome painting of an F-106 hanging in his living room. He was with me at the 318th and was still there when I left for West Germany. There is a good chance he might have a copy. I've just sent him an e-mail asking about it. I'll let you all know when I hear from him. Keep your fingers crossed.

First try to play it in another vcr, your's may be malfunctioning. If that doesn't work try takiing a blank tape apart and carefully swap the small reels in the new cartridge with the '106 tape or take it to a TV repairman and have him do it and you just might salvage that precious tape.

Thanks for trying to help! I try the tape reel swap and hope it works.
For those still looking, the video was made after we got the F-15 and I was retrained on them. The commander at the time we won was Tim Kinnan. Guess, the years or beer has taken a toll on the gray matter and I couldn't remember which aircraft I was working on at the time. I was at McChord for 8 and 1/2 years. Many good times, great friends, and terrific memories. Sometimes they all run together.
By the way, I too, have an awesome painting of an F-106 over Mt St Helens. A numbered litho. It hangs in our family room. Still have a few momentos like T.O. 1F-106A-2-27-1, that I always had in my pocket. I was in on the rewrite of the T.O.s that formalized our pocket brain books. When I get back to the Pacific Northwest one of these days I hope to donate it to the museum at McChord.
Thanks again to all.

To All,
Finally got my video to work. I have now transfered it to DVD. Getting old is hell!! After I got it to work I realized that we had won the Hughes Trophy after we converted to the F-15. Still "Green Dragons" though.
Thanks, again for all the help and advice.
