More from my time with the 60th MAW, 602nd OMS, Travis AFB Ca 1976-79. Some good background here at aviationexplorer.com/c-141_facts.htmThe first C-141A, delivered to Tinker AFB, Okla., in October 1964. The C-141 was the first jet transport from which U.S. Army paratroopers jumped, and the first to land in the Antarctic. (Operation Deep Freeze, which your MOW participated in twice flying out of Christchurch NZ)Conversion from A to B models was completed in 1982. Conversion to the C-models began in 1997 and was completed in 2001. The last active-duty C-141B retired Sept. 16, 2004, at McGuire AFB, N.J.

"That is awesome how the camera can catch those props." that's called the falling airplane syndrome....props stopped moving for the camera... I used to be pro photographer and one of the things I liked to do was take photo's of planes...air shows etc...one thing to do with a prop plane is to slow the shutter down to about 1/125 sec...then let the camera change the aperture...it blurs the blades of the props or helo rotors and doesn't make it look like it's falling out of the sky..... neat shots though...I still love to take photo's of planes... Nice photos Mark. I always thought the C-141 looked better painted White & Gray.
