Thanks for the update, Ernie. A note for the future Modeling page: Capt. William Lott's checker-tailed P-40 is available pre-painted in 1/200 scale as part of the Wings of Glory tabletop wargaming miniatures line.
Way before our Sixes, but still a piece of the 318th's heritage recreated in miniature...

Also, someting to note: Osprey's Aces of the 325th Fighter Group might merit reading for those interested in the WWII Dragons' combat experience. Not a lot of detail, but good for getting a toe wet.

I guess the www.318thfis.com is no longer. If anyone can find let me know. Here are some things I have found in my archives my years as a "Green Dragon"

Just stumbled on something while browsing Amazon for 318th memorabilia: In Pete Piotrowski's autobiography, he mentions a case at a SAC Bomb Comp where the 318th CO had stolen the LeMay Trophy as a prank, and Piotrowski cites a major in command at the time who was relieved of duty. (Source: Basic Airman to General: The Secret War & Other Conflicts: Lessons in Leadership & Life, p. 532, included in preview pages at www.amazon.com/gp/reader/1493161865/ref=sr_1_14?p=S0ET&keywords=318th+fis&ie=UTF8&qid=1395186480#reader_1493161865 ) Anyone know anything about this? Given that John Lindstrom was the only Major to hold the CO position around the time cited (around 1980), is this why Norm was suddenly and briefly kick up behind the CO's desk? Might be an interesting story for the site... BTW, I just accessed 318fis.com just fine not two minutes ago, so it appears to be back up.

Hey everyone, can you all please try to access 318thfis.com on ANY browser you may have? (The more, the better, but don't download a browser you may not want just to try.) I've been chatting over on the Convair F-106 Delta Dart facebook page about this, and between four browsers (so far) I seem to be the ONLY ONE that can get the site to load, and I'm using Firefox. (Still nothing on Internet Explorer.) I sent an email to Ernie White about this, but if we can provide some more info it may help. Thanks! Mark O.

Mark, I think it's the "TH" that's throwing you a curveball there. Ernie's site doesn't have those two letters in the middle. Try this link: www.318fis.com

Hey everybody - - many apologies for the delay - the Dragons Den has a new address - - www.318fis.com
About a few months ago, a visitor to the site shot me a e-mail about the site being down, I decided to finish some updates before I talked to the provider. After a few weeks, I shot a e-mail to the provider about the site being down. I was told about the address fee that I forgot to renew (d'oh), to my surprise, I was also told that someone took the address ! To get it back I could either wait 6 months and "try" to snatch it back or pay $160.00 to buy it back - well I thought about it for a few seconds and decided to change the address - - I dropped the "th" and got it back up a few weeks ago.
I've posted a few updates, more will be on the way over the next few months !
Thanks and - GO HAWKS !
Ernie

Many thanks Ernie, and boy, do I feel foolish. Turns out I put "318thFIS..." in my Firefox search engine, and it came back with www.318fis.com so I clicked on it. I DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE that the "th" was gone; just that I was able to get the site, and it worked fine. Talk about, "D'oh!!" Thanks for the help everyone, and I'm glad this was all worked out. (Oh, and Ernie? Pay your bill next time! Drove a bunch of us crazy!!) Okay, it just drove me crazy! Mark O.

Works great for me. I have a lot of 318FIS memorabilia, both F-106 and F-15. What is the best way to get it on that sight as well and this one. Also have the video "A Tradition of Excellence" made when we won the Hughes Trophy with the F-15.
