 Bullhunter's Book
« Thread Started on Aug 5, 2009, 12:37pm »

I'm done working on the book and want to get it out of my hair.

Several publishers want to do it but have to many restrictions on number of pictures and other stuff.

I started this as just a history of what I went through with stories for my kids.

Some how it developed into more, so I'm putting it back into just for family and very close friends.

If any of you still want to read it, it's in the form of e-book. It's all on CD. Just stict it into you laptop or other system and enjoy.
It is copywrited

Shipping will be between $1.50 and $2.00

So I guess maybe $15.00 "including the shipping" might be reasonable.

Just send me a PM for my address.
Once you get that, then mail me a check or money order and I'll mail you a CD.

Somehow the word might not have got out.
A longtime member in this forum and I were talking by e-mails today and my book came up.
He was not aware that it was ready for sale and shipping. So I feel the need to give this thread a bump.

It was completed about 1 month ago.
The cost is $15.00 check or money-order.
Mailed to:
Gary H. Price
4363 Beaver Valley Road
Port Ludlow, WA 98365
I ship within two days of receiving payment.
I want to make this clear - the book is all on a CD and copyrighted.
300 plus pages with dozens and dozens of photos the directly relate to the story being told. All but maybe 4 or 5 pictures were taken by me. The others I have permission to use.

About eighteen (18) forum members answered a pole on who wanted a copy and the answers were yes. As of today only one of you have said they were ordering and one said they didn't know it was completed and ready for sale and shipment.

Two publishers wanted to print and publish it. After reading their contracts and conditions I said "No thanks"
One said I could have no more than 30 pictures and illustrations.
The other said 10 pictures and they had to be switched to Black & White.
I declined as I feel the pictures help tell the stories.

I've sold a few books and give a few to my kids and people who are in the book. Feedback has been great.

:-[ Bullhunter, I've been reading your book over the past few days. I haven't finished it yet, but I've read enough to appreciate the effort that went into writing it and hopefully enough to make some well meaning observations.

First, I don't think it would be a waste of anyone's time to see what I believe has all the makings of a family heirloom. When you think about it, most of us will be lucky if we're remembered by just the two or possibly three generations that come after us. Sure there will be photos, videos, maybe a couple letters; but nothing of what we actully thought, when we thought it, lessons we learned or how we felt about our place in the world. Our entire existence will be reduced to second hand story telling of events that over time will become washed out as details are forgotten. If you don't believe it, think about your own great grandparents and how much you remember about them. Not a warming proposition.

By writing his book, Bullhunter has circumvented the inevitable by providing a look into both the military and non-military aspects of his life from childhood to today. His stories are varied and will be read and appreciated by future Bullhunters he will never know. But through his stories, they will know him and gain a new appreciation of their heritage.

Bullhunter's book creates a bridge to the future that ensures his thoughts and feelings will survive. As I look at the empty pages of the personal journal I bought almost ten years ago, I wonder if his efforts will help motivate me to create something similar for my progeny. [image]

I just finished reading this book and found it to be a good read. I enjoyed the stories and felt I could relate to a lot of it. I recommend reading this book because it might stir up some memories for you. It might also inspire you, as it did me, to write down your own experiences for posterity. Someone in your family might appreciate what you did while you walked this earth.

Some people might think it's all war stories. Not once did he say "This ain't no $hit" nor "Once upon a time".

Thanks for those kind words.
So far just 3 members of our forum have ordered the book. The 3rd book is going out in the mail in the morning.
I've sold a total of 15 the past months.
If interested just pm me for the details.

My computer is in the shop. Went in last Friday. The screen said no image and I smelt a burnt smell. Power fail to power up the computer. Think the power supply went out.

There is one drawback about living in a very rural area. Our county only as really one computer store/repair shop. They are the only game around for miles and they know it. They promise you that they will check your system within two days and don't,,, then do not even bother to call you. Maybe next time I'll take my business outside the county. I'm ... all for supporting local business shops but I expect some support back. Maybe I expect too much?

I got to chat with one of the computer repair techs. He looked like he was still in high school. He told me he would run a dynastic test with their equipment. I looked at him for a second and asked, " How will you do that when the computer has no power, will not turn on?" He mumbled, Oh yes need power. Then said something about checking the power supply and they cost about $23.00 He figured that was the problem.
I asked him that after he got it repaired to clean and vacuum out the unit including the fans.

Yesterday one of the techs was out sick and the other taking a computer exam. The one taking the exam must have been the young one. Well, we all had to start some place. I remember having to take my CDC volume test and then the end of course test.

I'm still waiting for an estimate 5 days later.

Should have my computer back by next week and I'll be able to make more books.
Good time to order now.
